The project aims to promote continuity in teaching and learning methods across the curriculum by developing and applying assessment for learning principles. The project also aims to develop pupils as independent learners who can work collaboratively.

Context

Welshpool High School is a 11-18 mixed comprehensive situated on the outskirts of the market town of Welshpool in Powys. The school has approximately 1100 pupils on roll who are drawn from an area that includes the towns of Welshpool and Montgomery and the surrounding villages. The vast majority of the pupils come from English speaking homes. Welshpool High School has 16 partner primary school which include Guilsfield C.P. School & Ysgol Maesydre.>br/> Guilsfield Primary School is situated in a semi-rural area and has 162 pupils on role. Maesydre Junior School has 230 pupils on role and has a Welsh stream. The school is situated in Welshpool.
