Context

Sandfields Comprehensive School is an 11-16 English medium mixed comprehensive school. Most pupils come from the surrounding area of the Sandfields Estate in Port Talbot, which was built between 1947 and 1955.

No pupils speak Welsh as a first language or to an equivalent standard. Less than one percent of the pupils come from minority ethnic backgrounds. No pupils receive support teaching in English as an additional language

Pupils entering the school represent the full range of ability.
