Data Protection
- External Advisers should be aware of the Data Protection Act and carry out their role accordingly
and with responsibility.
- External advisers are strongly advised of the need to maintain confidentiality at all times and
should take every reasonable step to ensure that all documentation is kept securely.
- At the end of the process all documentation that is the property of the school should be returned to them.
No copies of documentation or advice should be retained by the external adviser.
- The Record Books returned to the Consortium will be used for quality assurance of the work of the external
advisers only. Access to the Record Books are restricted to the consortium coordinator and the consortium
administrator for the purpose of administration, logging good practice to inform the next cycle and to
monitor the work of the external advisers.
- Further information about the Data Protection Act, and the principles of data protection can be obtained at
www.ico.gov.uk/Home/for_organisations/data_protection_guide.aspx.
- The administrator will provide support and answer questions on administrative and organisational matters.
However, the consortium recognises that there will be issues arising requiring additional professional
support, which will be provided by the consortium coordinator.
