Code of Conduct
The External Advisers will:
- Ensure that highest standards are maintained in their work as advisers.
- Ensure that throughout the process they will seek equality of opportunity regardless of age, disability, ethnic origin, gender, marital status, religion or sexual orientation.
- Ensure that they respect the distinctive features of education in Wales, which includes the Curriculum Cymreig and bilingual provision, including the right of those involved to have the review process conducted in Welsh or English.
- Carry out their work with integrity, treating all those encountered with courtesy.
- Respect the confidentiality of information obtained during the review process.
- Ensure that they have no connection with any school in which they carry out a review, which a neutral observer could use to question their impartiality.
- Co-operate fully with consortia and their quality monitoring systems.
- Declare any interest which may have a bearing on a proposed assignment.
- Notify the consortium co-ordinator if offered any inducement by anyone in connection with their work as an adviser.
- Accept that certain personal details, including equal opportunity data, will be held on the consortium database, and made available to the Assembly and GTC (Wales). This data will not be released to any other organisation.
- Accept that adviser contact details will be released to schools as appropriate.
In undertaking work as an adviser you are agreeing to abide by this Code of Conduct.
